Sixth Form students were celebrating receiving their A-Level results today. Despite the uncertainty and upheaval of the pandemic, the students successfully completed their courses and were delighted with their results which have enabled them to progress on to the next stage in their careers or academic studies.

The school is delighted that over 80% of students gained places at their first choice universities, including Milly and Alice at the University of Oxford to study Biology, Jess gained a successful placement at Surrey University to study Veterinary Science and Joe, Feng and Aisha are going to study medicine at UCL, University of Leeds and Keele University. We will have students across the UK from St Andrew’s and Durham to Exeter, Leeds to Liverpool, Manchester to London and all points in between. Special congratulations must go to those students who achieved all A and A* grades. We are equally thrilled to celebrate the growing interest in pursuing other post 18 pathways that led to students successfully being accepted on to prestigious and competitive advanced and degree apprenticeship programmes with PwC, DWF, Spring & Co, Bruntwood Building Services, Taylor Wimpey and Epic Systems amongst others.

Francis Power, Headteacher, commented that “this group of students deserve enormous credit for their excellent A-Level grades. Having missed out on their GCSE examinations two years ago, this was their first experience of a formal examination season. Even though repeated COVID issues caused significant disruption to their lessons over the last two years, they consistently showed remarkable resilience and determination in staying engaged with their studies throughout this period.  At the same time, our Y13 students contributed enormously to the broader life of the school during their time here. They have consistently acted as role models for the other students in our community, who will now aspire to match the standards that they have set. They leave with our genuine thanks for their contribution to Fallibroome and our best wishes for their future studies and careers.”

Jane Knott, Director of Sixth Form, said:  “This cohort of students has been really impressive in the way they have dealt with the disruptions of the pandemic. Throughout their A-Level studies they have shown great initiative and strength of character. We are proud and delighted to share their celebrations today and wish them every success in the future”.
