Fallibroome’s orienteers are once again celebrating national success at the British Schools’ Orienteering Championships.

This year’s event took place in the heavily-wooded Sutton Park on the edge of Sutton Coldfield on Sunday 20th November. A team of over thirty athletes represented Fallibroome across Years 8 to 13. Three Fallibroome teams secured bronze medals – Year 10 Girls, Year 11 Boys and Year 13 Boys.

Unfortunately, the team just missed out on individual medals, but did secure top ten finishes in their classes:

  • Oliver Smyth – 5th place (Year 9 Boys)
  • Nathaniel Horton – 5th place (Year 11 Boys)
  • Sam Amey – 6th place (Year 12 Boys)
  • Joseph Herbert – 9th place (Year 8 Boys)

Congratulations to all who took part. Hopefully we’ll secure some individual medals next time around in November 2017.

Thanks once again go to Mr Hayes for all his organisation and for providing the well earned hot chocolate!
