25 A Level Business Students attended a visit to Munich over October half term. This included a visit to the BMW plant. The plant employs a workforce of around 9000 people and builds more than 900 cars and up to 1,400 engines a day. Students toured the museum and enjoyed learning about the history of the firm, as well as dreaming about some very interesting concept cars!

The group had tours of the Olympic Park and Tower and the Allianz Arena. The group were interested to hear how the Olympic Park has had to adapt it’s business strategy since FC Bayern Munchen moved to a new stadium, in order to be commercially viable. The students also visited the new stadium, the Allianz Arena. The €340 million construction has become one of the city’s most dynamic businesses and it was great to get a behind the scenes look at the stadium. Student even got to line up to the Champions league music and walk down the players tunnel!

Finally, the group spent some time in Munich city centre and visited the Viktualienmarkt: a traditional German market selling a wide variety of goods. The weather did its best to cut this visit short but the group persevered and enjoyed the various sights Munich city centre had to offer.
