Aspiring A level artists spend the weekend in Anglesey with renowned artists…

On the 10th – 12th November Miss Smith took three enthusiastic Year 12 A Level Art and Design students to the Conway Centre in Anglesey.

The students, Aiden Walsh, Kornelia Dobrowolska and Emily Wood worked intensely with artists in a workshop environment alongside other students and teachers from a range of schools, gaining inspiration from them. A variety of workshops which included three dimensional face casts, ghost architecture plaster boards and perspective architectural drawings were led by artists.

All students thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and made fantastic progress. Aidan Walsh, who created architectural studies and drawings using isometric drawing said “The trip was really engaging and I learnt a lot about my work”.

The students produced a body of work which will contribute to their A level coursework to potentially raise their attainment. It was also a cross curricular learning opportunity involving mathematical and scientific elements.
