About Geography

In geography we study the earth’s landscapes; peoples, places and environments. It is, quite simply, about the world in which we live. Geography is unique in bridging the social sciences (human geography) with the natural sciences (physical geography).

The department is well resourced with a wide range of audio-visual aides as well as the traditional textbooks. We are committed to introducing our students to the practical aspect of the subject by providing field work opportunities from Year 8 all the way through to A-level. These opportunities add a lot to the understanding they have gained in class and prepare the students for the demands of coursework at GCSE and A-level which Geography remains a popular choice with our students.
