For the fourth time, The Fallibroome Academy have taken part in the Faraday Challenge. This is the 3rd time we’ve applied and hosted the event and now the 2nd time we have won it, adding a few more trophies to the trophy cabinet. Our team beat stiff competition from Kings, Wilmslow, Poynton, Congleton and Macclesfield Academy.

Each year the tasks for the Faraday Challenge are kept a secret from everyone until the day. This year students were tasked to design a new ride for Thorpe park. They had to design and build a prototype, manage the money, show engineering skills and present what they had designed to the rest of the schools and judge.

The judge was very complimentary towards our students and now we have to wait to see if we have gained enough points to make it to the final at Thorpe Park against 5 other schools from all of the UK.

The Fallibroome Academy Student Team:

  • Hugh Angier (8C)
  • Paul Averre (8C)
  • Nathan Herbert (8F)
  • Sophia Anderson-Bhatia (8O)
  • Daisy Tighe (8O)
  • Kelly Wang (8I)

The Department is very proud to have worked with them today and we wish them luck in the future stages on the challenge.
