On the 11th and 13th December Year 10 Full Course students in RESPECT experienced religious practices first-hand by visiting Manchester Cathedral and two Buddhist Centres in Manchester and Chorlton.

The students explored the architecture of Manchester Cathedral looking at how complex beliefs such as Judgement, Salvation and the Incarnation are depicted through the artwork and design of the building.

At the Buddhist Centres, students learnt the difference between Samatha and Vipassana meditation, which they experienced first-hand as they practised the techniques in the Buddhist shrine room. As noted by one student, “Instead of learning about it, we actually tried it!”
