Following the dreadful events last night, Fallibroome has been quiet and subdued today. Thankfully, we don’t believe that there have been any fatalities in our community.
We have asked our students to go through the school day as normally as possible in the coming days. In our experience, it can help to keep the normal routines in place following a traumatic incident. We will, of course, be mindful of the students who are struggling to cope and are ready to provide additional support in these circumstances.
I have been asked by a number of families who had children at the MEN last night to try to minimise rumours and online discussion of these events. I am sure that you will want to support these messages at home with your children. We will try to help individuals to come to terms with what has happened by encouraging them to talk to those who are very close to them and by accessing professional support as appropriate.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who have been affected by these events. It is hard to imagine how they will cope with the grief of losing a loved one in these circumstances.
