Fallibroome Student Matthew Fellbaum recently represented the UK at the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Poland.

Competing on tough course which was extremely physically demanding during days in which the temperature reached 32 degrees, Matthew performed incredibly well and finished 19th in the Long Race. This is the best Brtish result recorded by a competitor since 2010.

In the Relay events, Matthew’s team finished 11th and in the Sprint events, he finished in a solid 36th position. All the results and maps can be viewed viewed by clicking here and you can read the British Orienteering reports by clicking here.

Matthew said of the competition:

This competition was extremely challenging and I’ve gained some great experience which will help me in international competitions in the future. I really enjoyed it and it was a brilliant feeling to pull on my GB top again!

I’m sure all at Fallibroome look forward to hearing about Matthew’s future Orienteering success and are proud to support a proud GB competitor.
