In July 2019, the Art department hosted a KS3 art competition and exhibition. Out of over 700 entries, the Art department selected 73 pieces of art to feature in an exhibition. In the next round of the competition, 6 of these pieces were then selected to be entered into a regional competition at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery. The gallery hosted an open children’s exhibition and the judges accepted all six entires into the competition.

We are pleased to announce that one of the Fallibroome Academy entires gained a place in the top 5 of the regional Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery competition. This is an astounding achievement as the gallery received hundreds of entries.

The judges selected Lydia Perkins pencil portrait titled ‘Scream’ as their 4th place winner. Lydia attended the celebration and received her certificate with pride. We are very proud of Lydia’s achievement and all of the KS3 students who entered the competition, both at Fallibroome Academy, and regionally at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.

The Art department hopes to provide this opportunity again for students in the coming years, as it was such a successful opportunity which allowed students to enhance their artistic development. Well done to all involved and many thanks to the Art department for their work and support.
