Year 13 Media Studies students attended a free screening of the thought-provoking documentary ‘The Hard Stop’ as part of this year’s BFI ‘Into Film’ festival.

The award-winning film explores the fatal police shooting of Mark Duggan in 2011 and its impact on the community. The event included an informative Q&A session with the film’s director George Amponsah as well as the producer and contributors.

Topics for discussion were the role of the media in reporting news events, funding and distribution of British films and the art of documentary.
